We haven't finished our stay yet, but it's already been a lovely experience. Joey made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and greeted Stellar (our dog) like another guest. He even went to the kitchen to get her a cooked sausage. We were there for the open mic night, and the food was great too, cooked perfectly and good value. Definitely recommend.

I can't comment on the rooms since I've only visited to eat, but I've been back a few times. The Sunday roast is spot on, and the beef and ale pie is tasty too. I've tried both several times and never been disappointed. The staff are kind and helpful every time, and make you feel welcome.

The hotel has loads of character, and I was lucky enough to get a space in the car park each night, so my car was off the road. I spent five days in Banbury for work and was glad I booked the Cromwell Lodge. Margi and Lizzie were lovely to come back to after a day out. They were always up for a chat and seemed genuinely interested in me and how my day had gone. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. They also suggested places to eat nearby, including a couple they thought I should avoid, without ever pushing me to dine at the hotel. My room faced the front. The floor was a bit uneven and the boards creaked, but that's to be expected in an old building. I didn't hear the road at night, or the fair that had just started, probably because the rides were at the children's end and closed fairly early. The hotel food was very good, both in quality and presentation, and the prices were more than reasonable. Breakfast had plenty of choice and there was lots of it. Tim worked hard to make everyone happy in the mornings. I'd stay here again next time I'm in Banbury.

The double room was spacious and clean, with a standing fan and ironing bed. The floorboards were a little uneven, the only downside for me. Staff were very helpful, and breakfast was delicious. At check-in, a staff member who lives on site explained everything clearly. The doors lock at 11pm, and internal doors have alarm sensors, so take care if you're coming back late. I found the entrance door a bit difficult to open and needed to give it a gentle nudge. They also have a reasonable noise policy. I'd happily stay again.

It's very close to the town centre, with easy access to the car park at the rear. The room was clean, tidy and warm, and the hot water was good. Staff were really friendly and efficient, the menu had plenty of choice, and the food was great. There was a good range of reasonably priced drinks at the bar too. I could hear the neighbouring room's toilet flushing at night, though it wasn't a big issue and I'm a very light sleeper. My room overlooked the road, but there was no traffic noise. I'd definitely come back.
