A really distinctive pub with rooms, right by Banbury's cafes and restaurants. I stayed three nights, and it was easy to get to Oxford by train. Steve, the manager, was very helpful and made us feel welcome. Shame they don't serve breakfast.

Really friendly staff and a great range of beer and cider. Smash burger catering is available Thursday-Saturday, with pizza on Mondays.

The landlord and staff are great, and there are pop-up food stalls on weekends. They also run a good quiz with a twist every Monday. It's a proper local with well-kept ales and a nice craft beer selection. If you're over 5ft 10, you'll have to duck your head, which adds to the charm.

The Three Pigeons pub is quirky and surprisingly spacious, with a car park and beer garden. It's a little below pavement level, and the old ground-level windows give you unusual views. Loved the low beams, fireplaces and stone flag floors. Absolutely gorgeous.

The town centre is about a 10 minute walk away, and the price was very reasonable. We had a peaceful night in a comfortable bed, and the room at the Three Pigeons was nicely decorated with a TV and tea-making facilities. We were very happy with our stay and would book again.
