The Thai curry was delicious, and they had a nice whisky selection too, or so I’m told! Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff were friendly, quick, and gave us some great menu suggestions. They were lovely with the kids and our dog, which made the whole meal a pleasure. We’d definitely recommend it.

After a few miles on our cycling weekend, the three of us stopped in for drinks and something to eat. They made us feel welcome that afternoon, so we came back later for dinner. The food was fantastic, and we had such a good time we ended up being the last ones out. The owner and manager were top class.

Scottish-style tapas made this the most unusual place I ate while I was in Scotland. You can order two or three small plates each, which lets you sample traditional Scottish and English dishes with a modern twist. I tried everything from black pudding fritters and haggis bon bons to calamari in place of the usual fish and chips. The food was incredible, right down to a wonderfully indulgent sundae. The service was warm and attentive.

My wife was delighted to find several vegan dishes to choose from, rather than just the usual token option. We both enjoyed the tapas, especially the fresh, delicious squid. The menu felt different from standard pub food, with an eclectic mix of global flavors, including Asian and Mediterranean touches. Everything seemed freshly made with good ingredients. We’d booked ahead for Sunday lunch and brought our faithful companion, Rita. The pub and restaurant felt warm and welcoming, with a nice chatty atmosphere among the diners and staff, and dogs were welcome in the bar. They also serve a Sunday roast, which looked very good. Apparently its gravy takes two days to prepare. We’d happily go back and would recommend it.

The staff were so attentive and friendly, and Bella loved all the fuss they made of her. We were camping nearby and came over for a meal with our dog. The food was lovely, and the chips with my fiancé’s massive burger were some of the best I’ve had. We’ll definitely come back when we can.
