That jacuzzi bath was a great surprise, and the room was lovely for the price. Phil the GM and the rest of the team were friendly from the moment we arrived. We had a really good dinner too, especially the burger. I went to tell the chef how good it was. We’ll definitely come back with our daughter and pooch next time. See you soon! 🫡

The steak and mushroom pie was delicious, the chicken burgers were nice, the lamb shanks fell off the bone, and the desserts were lovely. The manager was pleasant and set a good tone for the staff. I’d go back, though a bit more attention to detail would help. We had to ask for a condiment with the seafood starter, and Thousand Island, curried mayo or tartar sauce on the side would have been a nice touch. For five people, three courses with five pints and two soft drinks came to £189. The food was decent across the board, around 4/5, so I was happy with the value. Service was a little slow at times, but after a walk we didn’t mind chatting while we waited.

The overnight stop and breakfast cost just £15 for the two of us. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty to choose from, and dinner the night before was excellent, with generous portions and top quality food. I had the mixed grill, my other half chose the Mac & Cheese Burger, then we shared apple crumble and Profiteroles. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I’m sorry I can’t remember the chap’s name, but he was knowledgeable and lovely. We stayed in our campervan on the new camper area after visiting nearby, as this place had been highly recommended. We got a very warm welcome and were shown to our pitch. We can’t recommend it enough and will definitely stay again if we’re in the area.

The restaurant had a lovely feel to it, and the food was amazing. All the staff were friendly and helpful during our birthday surprise stay. I was there with my boyfriend, and we’d definitely come back. Highly recommend.
