The Harbour Inn

We travelled north to south through Cumbria over five days, and this landlady stood out above the rest. She was helpful and friendly, and there was a great beer selection. She even offered us the carpark for an overnight stay, which we really appreciated. We’ll come back soon.

The room was really clean, with fresh towels, a kettle, tea and coffee. The shower was decent and the wifi was good. I booked a single room for one night and found it comfortable enough. There was music from the pub downstairs and traffic noise from the road, but neither bothered me. The bedside lamp switch was broken, and the main light was very dim.

A welcoming Inn to come back to after exploring the Lake District. We enjoyed sharing a couple of drinks with the locals in the evenings. The hosts were lovely, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended!

The pork was nice, but one slice hardly seemed enough after ordering a large roast. The rest of our Sunday lunch was a letdown: the portions weren’t as big as some reviews suggest, the quality was poor, the roast potatoes seemed frozen, the cabbage was still crunchy, the beef was lukewarm, and the peas tasted tinned. All three of us left about half our meals and went somewhere else for something nice. I find some of the positive reviews hard to believe.
