The Old Lyric Hall - St David Aparthotel

I’ve just returned to The Old Lyric Hall, and it was as good as my first stay, maybe even better. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was great, and the apartment’s little touches made it feel more like home than a hotel. It was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped for a relaxed, hassle-free visit. Self-check-in was simple, and the location made it easy to walk into town.

Apartment 5 was lovely, and we were really pleased with how clean and tidy it was. We stayed from Friday 28TH November to Sunday 30th November, and the breakfast supplies and drinks left for us were a thoughtful touch. There was milk in the fridge, bottled water, a hairdryer and a TV with Netflix, too. Someone came by the next day to top up the breakfast selection with more tea and coffee. We’d happily recommend the place and stay again.

We had plenty of space, even when our nephews came over for pizza on our last night. The place was warm and welcoming, with a comfortable bed and everything we needed for cooking and laundry. We did have a small problem with the entry code late at night. Another resident let us through the locked gate, which is how we got to the emergency number posted inside. It was sorted over the phone, but putting that number on the gate as well would help. Otherwise, a lovely stay.

The room itself was lovely, with beautiful decor, good facilities and a really comfortable bed. The town centre is nearby, though it seemed run down and there wasn’t much to do unless you travelled around 20 miles or more. During our stay, another guest smoked an illegal substance in the courtyard, and on the second night people in a nearby room argued, fought and slammed doors for hours in the early morning. I’d return for the room alone, but those other problems mean I won’t be back or recommend it. Very disappointing.
