We enjoyed the peaceful, beautiful walk into the town centre, and the location was a real highlight. Our room in the main house was nice, with a great view. It was clean, though it needs a deep clean. We were a little concerned by the bad reviews, but the stay was perfectly nice. Breakfast was fine and as expected, while the pastries were better than we'd thought they'd be. During the bank holiday it seemed a bit short staffed, but the staff who were there worked hard. It was pretty good value overall, and we'd be happy to stay again.

The restaurant menu was limited and mostly basic Italian food, but it tasted pretty good, and was much better than the neighbouring pub. Our room overlooking the water mill was very nice, though some rooms in the annex didn't look appealing. The location is beautiful. The young man at reception was excellent and very helpful with parking advice during the Bath marathon, and the other staff were nice too. Continental breakfast was basic but fine. A bit of fresh fruit would've been welcome.

I used the kettle once to make coffee, and it worked perfectly. I'm sure it didn't leak or cause any trouble while I was using it. A few hours after I checked out of The Old Mill Hotel in Bath last night, I got an email saying I'd damaged it. The hotel then took £65 from the card I used for the booking, without my agreement or a proper discussion. I find that extremely unfair and disappointing. Charging a guest after checkout without first giving them a chance to respond is poor customer service and left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, this has damaged my trust in the hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it based on how they handled the situation.

The building badly needs updating, and there didn't seem to be enough staff. Parking was £10, which felt like a rip off. Breakfast was pretty awful: I've never seen hard boiled eggs served at breakfast before, and the cheese, ham and bread were cheap and nasty. The location is fantastic and the staff were great, but I wouldn't recommend staying until the place gets a major overhaul and more thought goes into value for money.

The location is perfect, with wonderful walks nearby even in the rain. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way with advice. I spent two very comfortable nights and could happily have stayed longer. My room was lovely and quiet, with a good bed, and breakfast was adequate. I brought my own cafetiere, so I could enjoy a good coffee in my room before breakfast. Looking forward to coming back.
