A nice spot for a drink in the sun, with lovely views on a sunny afternoon. There’s plenty of space outside and in, and the bar has a good selection of alcohol. The food is decent for the fair price, considerably better than typical pub grub, though not amazing.

We had a Sunday Roast for our wedding anniversary at Wynyards Gap, with three meats, all tender and tasty, plus a great variety of vegetables and extra gravy. The food was delicious, and we finished with dessert. The menu as a whole looked superb and tempting, and the quality felt good for the reasonable price. Service was warm and friendly, as well as polite and quick, with everything taken care of. The seats were comfortable, and the place felt spacious, clean, and fresh, with natural decor and fabulous views across the countryside. We’ll go again.

We live nearby and walked over for dinner. I had the buffalo chicken burger and my partner ordered spaghetti. The burger was a battered, deep-fried chicken breast, oily and not how I think a chicken burger should be. My partner said her dish had no flavour and tasted as if they couldn’t care less. We paid 38 pounds for the two meals, which felt outrageous for what we got. I’ve been in bed all day with food poisoning. Since this was the only thing I ate there, I see it as a smoking gun. If poor food at expensive prices is what you want, this is the place. There are plenty of much better pubs in our area serving local food. To be fair, we didn’t stay in a room. The location is beside a busy main road, so it’s very noisy, though the view is nice. In reply to the pub’s comments: this is how feedback is given nowadays. I changed the room stars to no stars because I didn’t know that was possible. The comment about not caring is how we felt, and I think it’s wrong to discredit our experience that way. In all my years, I’ve never seen a chicken burger served deep-fried in batter. These are genuine experiences of your pub. Sorry you disagree, yes, we’re local.

We were staying up the road at Misterton for a 70th birthday celebration weekend, and were so glad we chose Winyard's Gap Inn for our first visit. Booking by phone was easy, the staff were helpful from the first enquiry, and the service was first class. Even though it was busy, everyone was working like clockwork. The food and choice were great, including the ales, and the decor was lovely. I had a pint of Shipyard and liked it. I was impressed by the artwork on the Shipyard pint glass and asked if I could buy one, but they didn’t have many in stock, so I couldn’t. Shame, but never mind. Thanks to everyone at winyard's for a fabulous Sunday Roast.

I highly recommend winyards gap. The food was lovely, and the staff were really friendly. Being gluten and dairy intolerant wasn’t a problem, with plenty of main and dessert choices offered. A really lovely place to visit.
