We had a family birthday meal here with 31 of us. Even with such a large party, all the food arrived hot and in good time. The staff were amazing, the food was great quality, and the prices were reasonable. Thanks to everyone for a great time.

The village is stunning, and we had a great meal at this brilliant traditional pub.

We’ve been back several times, and the food and friendly, helpful service keep us coming. The steak and ale pie has plenty of tender steak, the summer fruit crumble is delicious and big enough for two, and the Sunday lunch is great too. It’s in a lovely spot in a small village, right across from a great kids’ playground. Can’t fault it, five stars all the way.

We just stopped by to eat and have a drink, not to stay. It’s a great pub, conveniently located near the lakes.

We popped in for tea and found the food excellent and the team warm and welcoming. It’s popular with locals, which seems a good sign, and we’re locals now too, living down the road in Seascale. I’d happily recommend it. We didn’t stay overnight, so can’t comment on the bedrooms, though if they match the standard of the public areas, they’ll be clean and tidy.
