Victoria Guest House

Breakfast was ace, served when you wanted it, and there’s a takeaway option that could work well for people staying over for work. The owner also explained how to get into town and suggested places to visit. We had a great curry just down the road. He’s friendly, welcoming and a real joker. The Victoria is an independent hotel in an older building, so it feels different from a chain, though the rooms are about the same standard. Everything is well maintained, and the owner said refurbishment is ongoing because it’s such a large, old property. If you want good value, quirky accommodation and a great host, stay here. For a bland corporate hotel, you can stay elsewhere and pay a lot more.

There were towels and clothes from previous guests left in the small bedroom, and the cleaning wasn’t up to what I expected. That’s a shame, because this is a lovely, spacious B&B with a nice bathroom and kitchen. The owner should be proud of the property. A good, detail-oriented cleaning team would do it justice. Thanks for sharing it.

The street is picturesque, and Andrew was a great guy who looked after all of us while we were working in Bedford.

I live down the road and haven’t stayed here myself. Are there any photos of the rooms and dining area? If there are, I’d get my visitors to book in. Owners, could you add some? Thanks.
