We ate dinner at the adjoining ALoft hotel, which you can reach through a corridor by the dining room. It was handy to use both places, and the food was very good for the price. Breakfast here was lovely too, with plenty of choice and the option to make a takeaway tea or coffee. We booked the Residence Inn at the last minute for the bank holiday Monday after finding a great price, and were glad we did. Our corner King room was bright and modern, with a fabulous, comfortable bed and useful air conditioning. The living area and full kitchen were a real plus. It had all the pots, glasses, cutlery and appliances we could need, including a dishwasher, which would be especially useful for a family or anyone who doesn’t want to eat out every time. The staff stood out for being welcoming and helpful, even while they still had a few small things to sort out. The location is great, and it was lovely to sit and look out at the docks. Private parking is available for £20 a day, which could add up on a longer stay, but the convenience was worth it for us. A couple of details could be improved: the shower head felt cheap and had weak pressure, and many of the kitchen dishes still had labels or bits of labels on them. Taking care of those would make the room feel properly prepared.
It’s brand new and right across from the Titanic experience. The city centre is a bit of a walk away.
I’ve stayed at the AC before, but this is another fantastic Marriott. The Residence Inn’s rooms are outstanding, the location is great, and the gym is a nice extra. Already looking forward to staying again.
The gym was awesome, and we made good use of the free laundry while travelling. Breakfast each day was great too. We stayed for three nights and only found out the place had been open for a week; it’s new, nice and quiet, though there are still a few quirks to work through. Nothing major, and the staff were all friendly. Jo at the front desk was especially helpful when I needed non-feather pillows and was willing to sort it out. Our room was spacious, and we enjoyed making simple meals there. The Titanic Museum is across the street, and downtown was an easy walk of about 20 minutes. We’ll come back next time we’re in Belfast.
