Ivanhoe Hotel

The staff were so nice, and Lauren kindly sorted out the shower after we spent two hours going back and forth because it had no warm water. We had to trek through the halls in our pajamas at 9pm to take our showers. Not ideal for €162. That was the price for one night in a king superior room. The huge bed was the only saving grace. The site advertised free wifi, a smart tv and an ensuite, but the wifi barely loaded anything after showing a connection, and the smart tv couldn’t work without it. We could hear everything in the hallway, and I’d hoped booking a superior room meant we could settle in and relax. Instead, there was a wait to shower and no movie in bed, my usual relaxing ritual. I’d requested a little welcome note in the booking box and it was confirmed, but there wasn’t one in the room. I also asked for late checkout to make up for the inconvenience, but got no confirmation, so sadly had to leave at 11. It was good and all, but I can’t see it being worth more than €70. I’m bitter.

We had our wedding here and couldn’t be happier. The team went above and beyond to make the day perfect, and all our guests had only good things to say about the service and food. The rooms were spotless too. Thanks for making it a day to remember.

I went to a wedding here yesterday and hadn’t been to the hotel before. The Christmas decorations were really good, and the general decor was top drawer. The evening meal was the best I’ve had at any wedding venue in NI. Staff were friendly, had good banter and looked after everyone all day. Well done, and thank you.

We were looking forward to the Christmas meal we’d booked as a present for my family, but it was a real disappointment. The table was lovely, our orders were taken promptly, and the staff were friendly. After that, we waited about an hour and a half for food and had to ask twice what was happening. By then I was so hungry that sending back my medium rare steak wasn’t an option, even though it arrived tough and completely overcooked. My partner’s meal wasn’t much better, with soft, overcooked vegetables and little flavour. The service team did apologise sincerely and took my meal off the bill, explaining that a function in another room had caused the delay. I usually only review positive experiences on Google, but felt I should share this so the business can improve. It’s a shame to charge premium prices and be so stretched that the experience falls short.
