The shared spaces here are a real plus: two large courtyards, a grand hall, study rooms, a library, and secure bike parking. The team also puts on weekly activities in the building, which gives residents a chance to socialise, and you can have friends stay over. I stayed in an ensuite room and was glad I picked this place. It was spacious, nicely designed, and looked just like the pictures. Staff are available around the clock, quick to answer questions, and very polite and helpful. Laura deserves a special mention, she made my stay even better. Queen’s University is a 20-25 minute walk away. I worried that might feel too far, but it turned out fine and helped me get into the habit of walking. It's clean, safe, and well managed, and worth every penny.

I had such a great year at John Bell House and will miss it. It's a lovely historic building, and the rooms are quite nice for student living. There are social events most days of the week, and the staff are amazing and always helpful, especially Stephanie. You can reach out whenever you have a concern.

John Bell is right in the city centre, so shops and food are easy to get to. The facilities are great and the events are fun. Steph is a lovely receptionist and so kind.

On my scheduled check-in day, I got there and found nobody at reception to handle it. I'd been told they'd send the instructions 24 hours beforehand and that staff were available 24/7, but neither happened. I had to wait outside for 1.5 hours, then cancel and book another hotel. A complete waste of time, especially given how comprehensive their check-in procedure is.
