We loved sitting outside this pub and watching people go by. We enjoyed stopping there whenever we passed during our Northumberland holiday. On our last evening we shared a few starters, which were fresh, hot and delicious. The staff were polite and accommodating too. Great for an easy, fuss-free visit.

The bar was very busy, so we sat in the restaurant. The service was fantastic, with lovely staff, and our food arrived hot and in good time. We had sausage and mash and haddock and chips, and both meals were delicious. A lovely atmosphere too.

A lovely woman served us drinks at lunchtime and suggested we return for dinner, saying the food was excellent. She was right. My husband got a huge portion of fish and chips, while my goulash was just right, with a doughball and perfectly cooked vegetables. Fabulous staff and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

We came for dinner with the family between Christmas and New Year, and with our three dogs we were seated in the bar. It had a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were fab, welcoming and great with the service. The food was excellent, and we loved the local beer from the brewery down the road. Highly recommend.
