This was another stay at The Stables, the self-catering cottage next door. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we came back. Angus is a lovely host, welcoming and warm, and nothing is too much trouble. After a busy day sightseeing, The Stable makes a quiet, cosy retreat. It’s well appointed and ideally placed for exploring the lovely coast and castles across Northumberland and the Scottish borders. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

The Stables cottage was immaculate and impressive, with everything we needed for a peaceful, comfortable stay. Angus gave us a lovely welcome and provided a pack of essentials. He was happy to help and shared lots of tips for visiting the area. The location was quiet, with off-road parking, and we slept so well. We loved waking to the dawn chorus from all the birds and will definitely return. Thanks, Claire and Angus, for such a relaxing break. Kind regards, Stuart.

Angus and Claire were wonderful hosts, and Angus was especially welcoming, friendly and accommodating. He freshly made breakfast himself on both mornings of our two-day stay, and we enjoyed a chat with him each time. The house is beautifully kept, with a warm, comfortable traditional style. A fantastic place to stay in Northumberland.

Angus and Clair are fabulous hosts who go out of their way to make you comfortable. It’s a delightful home and we’ll definitely return. We also visited the standing stones, a magical 4000 year old place of reverence, or somewhere to pop the question.

Angus and Claire were both very welcoming and keen to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, with lovely antique furniture and a large en-suite, and both were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was just as good, served in a tastefully decorated room with plenty of gluten-free catering. A beautiful, characterful B&B. Highly recommended!
