The lady who greeted us was attentive, and the food arrived quickly. On our second visit today, my wife and I both thought the beef in the Sunday lunch was cooked perfectly, and the vegetables and Yorkshire puddings were amazing. We had desserts too: I chose the Nutella cheesecake of the day, and my wife had sticky toffee pudding. Both were superb, and I can say the pudding was just as good as on my previous visit. We've always had a superb meal here and will definitely return. The staff provided great service.

The food arrived hot and delicious, and our drinks came quickly. We booked Sunday lunch for seven adults and three children, and because of the group size were asked to prebook our food. When we got there, staff showed us to the table and offered water or drinks. They were attentive and polite, and the pub was very clean. I'd definitely recommend it.

The pub is well placed for Holy Island and for travelling across Northumberland into the Scottish borders. We had great food and a lovely room, much bigger than the floor area of our house. There was some noise from the pub reaching our room, but it was the Six Nations, so a crowd was expected. We'll be back!

A quiet location, a nice bar, friendly and helpful staff, and nicely appointed rooms. I appreciated the huge bed during my pleasant three-night stay. There was an issue with the hot water in my room, but staff quickly moved me to another one and handled it very professionally. These things happen. Dinner on Saturday was very good, and the place was pretty good value. It isn't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I'd happily stay again.
