Jane and Derek really make the stay, offering anything you could think of wanting in your room, plus the most sumptuous breakfast in their beautifully appointed upstairs room. They both helped with local advice for the area, walkers and travel. The rooms are exceptional too, beautifully decorated and furnished, with the comfiest beds, duvets and pillows. It's a good location for visiting the lovely Northumberland coast up to Scotland.
Derek and Janet were excellent hosts and couldn't do enough for us. My vegetarian friend was especially impressed with her breakfast, and the home baking was a treat. The rooms were excellent and spacious, and the breakfast room is special. There's a Smart TV for catch-up too. This is absolutely the best Bed and Breakfast I've stayed in. I'll be back.
The hospitality was as good as it gets, and Janes cakes and Derricks breckfast were fantastic. Janes smile and the sight of Derrick popping up at the kitchen window in the morning will be missed. Thanks, guys, for a lovely weekend. Amazing people, and quite possibly the best B&B ever. I can't quite put into words how great this place is. Their dog Millie doesn't make a sound. The steps to the breckfast room are minimal, and there aren't any ornaments to break in the rooms, though there are amazing antiques in the breckfast room. The shower room is a little small, but 100% adequate and very powerful. The fresh cakes and bread are definitely a plus.
Breakfast was freshly made and served in a beautiful upstairs room, and the house is handy for the town and city walls, with parking just outside. We stayed one night and had both rooms. The welcome was warm from the moment we arrived: we were shown around the rooms and garden, then offered homemade cake. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, though the ensuites are small. One of the friendliest, best places we’ve stayed. I’d happily recommend it for a visit to Berwick.
