It’s a very quiet spot, and we enjoyed two nights there. The house is beautiful, with a gorgeous garden and rooms full of art and books that were interesting to explore. Our bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, with modern bathrooms and nice views. Breakfast was very nice too. For meals nearby, we had good food at The Bell, a few minutes’ walk away, and The Red Lion in nearby Steeple Aston. My friend and I had a lovely time.

The breakfasts were a real highlight. Leo made them to order in a cozy room with a fire and good conversation. I tried the full English, overnight oats, and homemade toast with jam, all excellent and clearly made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Coming back in the evening to the smell of bread baking for the next morning was heavenly. The house is more than just a bed and breakfast, though even the bed and breakfast itself deserves five stars. My mother and I had room #3, which was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, with thoughtful details everywhere. The decor mixes old and new in an eclectic way, and I could have spent days looking at the artwork and furnishings throughout. The location was perfect, on a quiet lane beside the cemetery where many of my family members are laid to rest. It felt like stepping into another time and place, with lovely natural and architectural sights within walking distance. Arranging the trip from the US by email was easy: Leo was attentive, responsive, and professional, answered all our questions thoroughly, and made personal arrangements in case our flight was delayed. We arrived on time and began the stay as planned. I hope to enjoy another unforgettable visit to Heyford House soon.

Breakfast was served in the dining room, and the rooms had assorted teas and bottled water. We booked two rooms for two nights and found it all very relaxing. Heyford House is beautiful, with immaculate grounds; the large, bright rooms suit the style of the property, and the bathrooms have been tastefully refitted. I’d definitely return. For dinner nearby, I thoroughly recommend The Red Lion at Steeple Aston.

We’ve stayed at Heyford House every year for the last ten years, my sister and I, and we love it. The countryside is beautiful, as are the house and gardens. Leo is always so friendly and welcoming, and we’ve had a lovely room and fabulous breakfasts. All wonderful.

It’s a nice house with its own character, in a beautiful setting, and the garden is lovely and large. Our room was big, with a good bed and a pleasant view of the church across the street. Still, the house wasn’t quite what we expected. The room wasn’t as clean as we’d hoped, with a large spiderweb in the bathroom, for example. Breakfast was okay but a bit slow, and our coffee cups looked like canteen cups. We thought the price was quite high.
