We’ve just had a lovely overnight stay at the Oakwood Hall Hotel and would definitely return. Ali was professional and a lovely man. We had a beautiful room with a four-poster bed, and Ali kindly gave us directions that took us through some lovely villages. Thanks again, Ali. Chris and Alex

The lady who checked us in and served breakfast was really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, and the hotel has lots of character. Definitely recommend it.

I stayed here for a long time and really enjoyed it. The staff were very nice, especially Nasir and Hassan, who did more than I expected.

I only booked because it was the best price in the area, but I was pleasantly surprised and would happily return. The building is beautiful and full of character, with plenty of characters around too. It’s dog friendly, as far as I could tell, which is always a plus for me. Breakfast is included, very basic but it did the job. If you’re expecting a bland ibis or radisson in millennial grey, this isn’t that.

Such good value, and the staff were friendly and full of local tips about cafes, walks and more. We both got upgraded: my friend had a four-poster room and I had a lovely green one. The place is full of old-fashioned English 1860s details, including William Morris stained glass and gargoyles. Anyone from overseas or who loves grand old houses would enjoy it. The rooms and setting were really quiet. It’s even better value when you can bring your own wine, have it uncorked and use the provided flutes, since there’s no bar. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. The whole place has a lovely Fawlty Towers feel.
