Bay Lodge

The room was lovely, and the owner was nice too. The place looks much better in person than it does in the photos.

Getting around was easy, with bus stops a minute away and shops, restaurants and the sea close by. The bedding was lovely quality, and both the bathroom and shower were excellent. Pamela and Alan were easy and efficient to communicate with. It was a lovely private space, and I’d happily recommend it and hope to return.

Parking is the big issue here. There is no parking, just double yellow lines. Residents used to respect one another’s spaces outside their homes, but since you arrived, customers have told us you direct them to park outside our houses. They are told to move on, and that will keep happening. We never had parking trouble before this place opened. The owners are rude and unfriendly. Read the other reviews and you’ll see I’m not the only one who thinks so. Try living next door and you’ll understand. There were also claims about planning permission. You said the extension was for “family use” and gave a sob story so people wouldn’t object, then it became a B&B. That felt dishonest. I lost respect for you when you caused problems for locals who kept company vehicles at home. Your emails created trouble, seemingly to free up the road for guests. I have no respect for you or your customers. I’ll keep an eye out and tell guests to park somewhere else. If you need proper parking, try Premier Inn, Travelodge or Holiday Inn. For entertainment and parking, Birchington Vale is a better option. ❌ NO PARKING ❌

The 'Chaucer' room was spotless and very comfortable, and I had everything I needed. The welcome chocolates were a lovely extra. Alan & Pamela were really friendly hosts, and I’d definitely come back.
