The location at The Seaview is handy for just about everything a traveler needs, including the train, restaurants, library, shopping and event venue. We had a wonderful weekend in the modest, shore decor room above the pub. The shared bathroom is upstairs, and the room overlooks a garden patio. It gets loud at night because The Seaview has the latest last call in town and people linger rather than head home. If you enjoy that lively scene, you'll love the welcoming locals, jukebox and live entertainment, and it's easy to get to bed after a long night since your room is right upstairs. Once the crowd leaves, the night is surprisingly restful until the seagulls wake you. Not for a quiet seaside holiday, but a great fit for a lively celebration.

The garden is amazing, and that pint of Amstel was sensational. It's a genuine pleasure to find a REAL pub like this, with a great sound system playing 90s indie and giving the place a cool vibe. The barman wasn't very talkative, but he'd probably had a long day.

Just moved to Birchington, and this lovely pub made us feel welcome straight away. The bar staff are all friendly, and so are the regulars. It doesn't feel cliquey like most pubs. My wife and I love it here and plan to become regulars. If you fancy a quiet pint in a warm, friendly place, this is the spot.

The garden was nice, though the smoking area was right by the door into the garden, which wasn't great when we had a party there. There was no parking, and there weren't any towels in the toilet to dry your hands.
