The staff were lovely, and being cheaper than the city hotels was a plus, though it’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the centre. The room itself felt old and neglected, with no USB charging ports and lighting that was either painfully bright or off. Even one bedside lamp lit up the whole room. The bathroom also hadn’t been cleaned properly: there was hair in the bath, faecal matter in the toilet and toothpaste on the basin.

Jakub, Rodney, Sophie, Nadia, Zohaib and everyone else made our stay a lovely one. Jakub was so friendly, and Rodney was too. They even helped us with suggestions for places to go and did extra to make us feel welcome. The room was really clean and good, and the service was fantastic. We had a memorable stay and I’d definitely recommend it.

The room, bathroom and sheets were clean, and the staff and breakfast were okay. I paid £261 including breakfast for a three-day BH break, but the room had no outdoor view, just a small indoor space. The shower was very basic, with only a small showerhead. There was no AC, though it stayed cool in the mornings, and WiFi cost £3 a day. The TV said “welcome to Samsung Hotel,” even though this was a travelodge. For the price, I’d rather pay a bit more and stay somewhere else next time. The room amenities and WiFi could really use an upgrade. It didn’t feel woman or female-friendly.

Travelodge Broadway Plaza was handy for what I needed, and a few staff members were genuinely helpful. After I moved to another part of the building, the stay got better, but the first area was really noisy, with children running through the corridors late at night. I also came across someone begging for money inside the hotel. They live there, which caught me off guard and made the place feel less secure. For what I paid, the room wasn’t clean enough. The hotel could use better supervision and more control of its shared areas.

The afternoon lads were ACE, and Jakub and Jeff made the stay especially worthwhile. They were so friendly and kind. The location’s spot on for getting where you need to go, and the room was what I expect from Travelodge. The bathroom could use a lick of paint, but I’d happily come back. I saw a bad review about noise, so just to add, I was in room 135 beside the reception door and slept fine every night. No thin-wall problems for me. Each to their own, I guess, but I can’t blame the hotel.
