Delta Hotels by Marriott Birmingham

I was only there for a team meeting in a function room, and the food was awful. Breakfast was a bowl of fruit and a plate of cubed flapjacks, I think? Lunch was soggy. I’ve never had soggy curry before, but somehow they managed it at Delta. I skipped the rice and pasta and ate only the meat and vegetables. The cheese was nice, though. I think it was some sort of Paneer dish.

The staff were kind and ready to help. I’d forgotten my adapter, and reception quickly found one when I asked. The hotel has a classic feel and is nicely designed, and it’s close enough to the city centre that you don’t even need a bus. I had a good stay and would recommend it to friends visiting Birmingham.

The staff were nice, and the room was fine for our visit with family and friends nearby. But there weren’t any drawers or anywhere to unpack, so we ended up using the other bed for our things. With our toddler there for the week, it was hard to keep everything tidy and organized.

I was surprised by how spacious the room was, and the bed was comfortable. The heated towel rack was everything! The facilities were great value, and the staff were helpful. I also really enjoyed not hearing the neighbours. The only downside was no fridge in the room, but I was there just one night.
