Hyatt Regency Birmingham

The lounge staff member was especially lovely, making sure everyone had enough to eat and drink. In the evening, food is served there along with alcoholic drinks for two hours, and it was enough for me to skip dinner. Breakfast was good too, and I recommend the omelette. The hotel is in a great spot for my conference at the centre next door, and it was easy to take a stroll along the canals. I'll use it again.

I found the atmosphere calm and relaxing, and the hygiene standards were top class. The food was delicious, with plenty of quality dishes to choose from. Reception gave us a warm welcome, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout our stay at Hyatt Regency. Paid parking was handy too. Highly recommended.

We were in town for a nearby three-day conference, and the hotel was ideally placed. The beds were comfortable, and the soundproofing kept noise from other rooms from disturbing us. We enjoyed the cocktail selection at the bar, and the pool and spa were relaxing. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, and the staff were consistently attentive and welcoming. We did have a minor issue, but hotel manager Mr. Pailan sorted it out promptly and professionally. His attention to detail and care for guests reflect well on the hotel. I'd readily recommend staying here.

The power kept cutting out in our room, so we couldn't use the iron, hairdryer or TV, or charge our phones. We called and went to the front desk several times, but the staff seemed uninterested in fixing it. The engineer who eventually came was lovely and very apologetic. The building is lovely, right in the city centre, and the spa is nice. Those were the only good parts of our stay. There were strong cannabis smells in the lifts and rooms, and people were openly using drugs and alcohol outside the entrance. They offered us a club room upgrade for a future visit, but with below-average service, dodgy patrons and weed smells everywhere at those prices, I'd just go to Amsterdam. There are much better, cheaper places to stay in Birmingham. Very disappointing.
