Great value, with spacious rooms, air conditioning, and a lovely bathroom and shower. They provide plenty of tea, coffee, milk and water, plus a Nespresso machine. The location’s ideal for the Utilita Arena, about a five minute walk away, and the tram stop is right outside. I’ll stay again.

The reception team gave us a lovely welcome at check-in, and we even won 50% off food and drinks on their spin-the-wheel game. My partner and I booked a superior room. It was clean, quiet and lovely, with a nice view of the buildings. We had a great stay, and I’d recommend this hotel in Birmingham.

The breakfast was the biggest disappointment. Most of the self-service buffet seemed cold or frozen, the scrambled eggs were revolting, the yoghurts were warm, and there was no decaf coffee. The juices weren’t fresh either. I understand the cost saving, but I’d have gladly paid more for an à la carte option. Staff were mixed, some polite, others seemed as if they wanted to check out themselves, though Christmas may have played a part. The room itself was quiet, the bathroom spotless, and the air conditioning kept the temperature comfortable. Our executive room was large enough for the family. We had a nice view from the 16th floor and no lift trouble at all, even three days before Christmas. The lifts were fast and reliable, and one was closed for refurbishment, so it seems they’ve listened to feedback. Parking was easy, with plenty of spaces and clear instructions for where to go and how to pay. I think the criticism of the price is unfair for a long-stay car park in the city centre. It’s an average place overall. Fine for a stopover, but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

My family and I had a nice stay. The room was pleasant, clean and had great air conditioning. I liked the room service, and the food was quite okay. One odd thing, staff wouldn’t bring the order into the room, so you may need to collect it at the door.
