Clean and efficient, and a good fit if all you need is somewhere to sleep and get ready before heading out. The room was a very small, modern, Japanese-style space with no windows, arranged for convenience more than comfort. It barely fits a bed, TV and dressing table, with a toilet, sink and shower in the wet-room bathroom. Wi-Fi reception was poor, though that wasn't surprising in a room like a closet.

The bed was comfortable and everything was clean, with a nice location for getting around the city centre. Still, the room was shockingly small. I've had pizzas that wouldn't fit in the floor space left over, and I'm glad I didn't bring a suitcase because I don't know where it would have gone. If you're sharing the double room, make sure you know your companion very well. The ill-fitting frosted-glass door between the bed and shower leaves little to the imagination. There was a TV on the wall but no signal, so the guidebook had to provide the entertainment. It's not a terrible no-frills budget room, but I've paid the same or less at nearby hotels for rooms three times the size.

The price was great, and we'd stay again if we're in Birmingham. It was compact but comfortable, with everything we needed. The location was good and there was no street noise. The wet room was nice and the shower was great. There were no windows, so it was hard to tell the time when we woke up, though we thought that was a good thing. The TV's first channel is a camera on the roof, which lets you see what it's like outside and prepare accordingly.

The room was spotless, but there wasn’t much space for two, and the constant noise from people coming and going made it hard to settle. We were in the first room on the left as you enter the corridor to the other rooms. Breakfast was just a snack bar, a muffin and a drink. It might work for someone travelling alone on business. I wouldn’t book again. I’d rather pay a little more for a bigger room with tea and coffee in it.
