Park Hotel

I wouldn’t encourage anyone to stay at the Park Hotel. We saw a rat go under my bed, the shower was mouldy and full of insects, and the cleaner never properly cleaned the room. Things also went missing from our fridge. Work was going on while guests were staying, from 8am-10pm, which felt like a serious health hazard. We weren’t told before moving in that the place was being sold or that workmen might enter our room whenever they pleased. Banging and drilling next door smashed my mum’s sentimental wine glasses and my laptop screen. The manager’s boyfriend, who often acted like he was in charge, was rude, as were the workmen. We were repeatedly told to park around the corner instead of on the hotel grounds. The staff were rude, and the whole experience was traumatic for my family and me. It’s a disgraceful hotel, and I hope nobody else has to go through this.

The location is nice, but the rooms are small.

I stayed for five months last year. The staff were absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms and shared areas were thoroughly cleaned every day.

I was there for a couple of weeks. It’s a decent place with nice staff and no bugs. It was a bit cold, and the toilet was loose, but at least it was ensuite.
