The bed was comfortable and it wasn’t too noisy. Getting to the city centre is easy by bus, about 20 minutes. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. That said, I’d only suggest this place if you just need a bed, which fits with it being cheap. It felt a lot like a London share house, with private rooms and shared bathrooms. My shower kept going from extremely hot to cold after about a minute, and I had to repeat that three times.

It was just what I wanted: a simple, clean and comfortable room, and really good value for budget accommodation. The staff were friendly and made me feel very welcome.

Sarah, Kelly and the rest of the staff have gone out of their way to help us. Nothing seems too much trouble, and both the room and beds are spotlessly clean. If I could give them six stars, I would. It’s five stars from us. My mother and I were moved here last week after a no-fault eviction from our bungalow. She’s disabled and I’m her carer, so we’re in the ground-floor disabled room. We’re homeless, though not roofless, and this is temporary accommodation while Sandwell Council looks for somewhere permanent for us.

The room was clean and the bed really comfortable. It’s plain and simple, but the welcome was warm. At £50 a night, continental breakfast is included, with as much toast, tea, coffee and orange juice as you want. There are ten cereals to choose from, plus strawberries, melon, grapes, bananas and apples.
