Staying Cool at the Rotunda

The apartments are lovely, in a prime spot, with a full kitchen and what seemed like complete soundproofing. But the room was far too hot, and the two industrial fans did nothing to help. We couldn’t stay because of the heat, which was a shame given how nice the rooms were otherwise.

Such a shame that Staying Cool has ceased trading. I always enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone. The rooms were a good size, with all the facilities you could want in a serviced apartment, and the beds were so comfortable you didn’t want to get up. It’s in a great central location, with wonderful views across Birmingham and very friendly, helpful staff. I’ll stay here again.

We didn’t want to go home. The apartment was peaceful despite being right in the city centre, with barely any street or traffic noise. The bed was super comfortable, and the sitting area was cosy and warm. Fresh oranges for juice, cereal, and coffee were especially lovely touches. Staff welcomed us warmly and were friendly and helpful. The apartment was very clean, well equipped, and had stunning city views. It’s conveniently placed for theatres, museums, stations, and shops. We’ll certainly return. Many thanks to all the staff.

The views were phenomenal, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I appreciated the coffee, cereal, and oranges for juicing too. My only small gripe was that the front door didn’t block sound particularly well, so I could hear people waiting for the lifts. It wasn’t very busy while I was there, though, so it didn’t bother me much. I visit Birmingham every couple of weeks and usually use city centre hotels, but I tried the Rotunda this time and didn’t regret it. It’s only a couple of minutes from New Street Station. I was worried a late check-in might be awkward, but the security guard was there and checked me in without any problem. I strongly recommend the place.
