It's a very old pub with a cosy atmosphere, and the prices for drinks are really reasonable. I came in for a meal and the food was lovely. Portions are generous, especially the gravy with the steak and ale pie, which I'd recommend with mash. The guy at the bar was nice, and all the staff were pleasant.

It's a great pub with a brilliant alcohol selection and the feel of a historic boozer. The fish and chips were tasty, though the fish clearly hadn't been made fresh and was only OK. Our room was tidy and quiet, but the bathroom could use a little more care. I found a few hairs in the shower cubicle and on the floor by the bath. It was great value for money, and I'd stay again for work.

There was a folk night on when I visited, which really added to the feel of the place. A cracking traditional pub, too, with a good choice of beers.

We went in for lunch and a drink, and the food was tasty with very generous portions. They looked good, though I couldn't say how healthy they were. The service was friendly, and it's a proper old-fashioned pub, the kind that's disappeared in so many places. We're hoping to come back for our Christmas meal.

Just one night here, in a clean, cosy double room. The staff were helpful and friendly, and both the food and beers were great. I'll definitely be back.
