The Old Barn

Lisa at the Old Barn is a big reason I've stayed there so many times. She makes sure every visit is as comfortable as the last, and her home-cooked breakfast sets you up well. She's also a great travel guide for around town, lol, and always takes time to make sure you have a pleasant stay. She's an excellent, committed member of staff. Thanks, Lisa. I'll no doubt be back.

There's a small restaurant with a good selection of lunch and dinner, and the toilets are well maintained. You might think you've missed them, but they're accessed from the large car park. The dealers offer a wide range of things. Watch out for the mezzanine stairs, though: a couple of steps are an odd height, and I trip on them every time.

We had a comfortable night at the Old Barn before Crufts, and the price and location for the NEC were excellent. It's dated, but clean and friendly, and not bad at all. Lisa, who handles reception, cooking, cleaning and maid duties, is doing a great job. We'd most definitely stay again.

The rooms are a little tired, but for what you pay, it's good value. You're not paying Ritz prices. The staff and service were top rate, and breakfast was good and included. Our room was extremely warm, and the beds were comfortable, at least in room 1. You get what you pay for.
