The Royale Penthouse - Skyline View - Balcony

The city view was amazing, the bathroom was fairly clean, and the location worked well for things to do in Digbeth. That was about it for the positives. The building and property smelled of weed and sick, the furniture was poor quality, and the kitchen chairs weren’t assembled properly. The oven was filthy, there were no baking trays and hardly any cutlery. The balcony bedroom door wouldn’t open. Spare duvets had no covers, the sofa bed was impractical and uncomfortable, and the main bed and pillows were terrible. The listing promised a hairdryer, but there wasn’t one. There was an iron without an ironing board, and the WiFi barely worked. Getting in was like a Crystal Maze puzzle. Neighbours were noisy until 3am, and the building doors were left unlocked, which felt like a serious safety risk since anyone could enter. We also struggled to get any response in the week before arrival, despite having paid in full. Travelnest handles bookings for the owners but gave us no clear answers, just their direct contact, and the owners weren’t helpful either. I’ve also seen that negative reviews seem to be disappearing, since further searching turned up only bad reviews. That’s not good enough from a company as large as booking.com.
