Travelodge Birmingham Castle Bromwich

We've now stayed here for Christmas twice, in a family room. The rooms are basic but spotless, and the hotel was quiet enough that I didn't hear anyone. There were marks on the kids' sheets, but that was sorted easily. We'll definitely be back.

We came from London for one night and had an awful experience. Our car was broken into in the car park, which uses ANPR managed by the Hotel and Euro Car Park, and our valuables were taken. Staff later said they couldn't read our number plate because it was too dark. But if I don't register my car at reception, I get a ticket by post within a week, so how can they read it then? I saw broken glass from windows in six places in the car park. Staff also said this happens there. Why didn't anyone tell us at check-in, so we could at least secure our valuables? The hotel staff's response was utterly disappointing and disgusting. This is not a secure place to stay. Avoid it at all costs.

I stayed for a lovely week. The rooms were a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Every staff member I met was friendly and helpful. Sadly, I can't remember any of their names, but they were all lovely.

Not safe at all. Their car park is an open invitation for thieves to break into cars, and they don't even tell guests about the risk. I got stuck in a terrible situation over the weekend, trying to get a replacement and travel back to my city.
