Travelodge Birmingham Central Newhall Street

My top-floor room was simple but practical, with a desk, chair and Lavazza coffee pod machine. The ensuite was small, though the shower was a decent size. It was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable, so I slept well. Breakfast was prebooked for each morning and didn’t disappoint. Great value, and I’d recommend this Travelodge and stay again.

Clare went out of her way to help with what we needed, and she was really friendly. The rooms were clean and functional, and the shower had a great strong flow. The location was good, too. We were in Birmingham for the first time and were pleased with the city and the friendly, helpful people we met. The alcoholic drinks were good value as well. Four very happy Yorkshire lasses, and we’ll definitely come back!

Pat and Taz were attentive and so welcoming from the moment we arrived. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. My kids and I also had a fantastic dinner, with delicious food and an atmosphere that suited families. It was a memorable stay, and we’ll definitely return.

I stayed for three nights, and they wouldn’t keep any baggage before check-in, not even small bags, so be warned. The first room had a heater that ticked noisily. When I complained, the manager said they all make that noise. I didn’t accept that, and she reluctantly moved us to another room where the heater was quiet. Breakfast wasn’t great, and the service was poor. At times there were no plates or cutlery, so I had to ask reception.
