We booked a meal deal with breakfast, which was good value. Some things weren’t available, including burgers, sticky toffee pudding, bananas and beans at breakfast, but the alternatives were good. Staff were capable and helpful, and they added to the stay, even though there didn’t seem to be many on duty. One lift was out of order, which isn’t ideal with ten floors. I’d been wanting to try this hotel and booked it for a NEC trip. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive, even with the roadworks, and the price and rooms were fine for a budget place. It was a good stay and I’d return.
The accessible room had plenty of space to move around, with a wide-opening door, an easy-access shower, a pull cord by the shower seat and handrails around most of the room. The hotel has a small bar serving breakfast and hot drinks, though it can get crowded. I only stayed one night, so the TV and tea and coffee facilities were fine for me. The problem was the disabled parking: when we came back, someone had taken our space, and there were no others available in the car park. I had to park across the road from the travel lodge. With C.O.P.D and breathing trouble, that’s a fair walk.
The water pressure was practically nonexistent, just a steady drip from the shower. I stayed at london bank for two days recently and it was brilliant, but here I’ve been without a shower for three days and I’m checking out early to move to another hotel. They ask you to upload pictures, but this needs a video to show how bad it is. I usually book flexible. The room itself was OK, but the car park is tiny, so you have to use the large shopping car park.
I was here for two nights of work training and found it comfortable and hassle-free. The rooms and shared areas were tidy, clean and smelled fresh, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast cafeteria is inside the hotel, which has modern, pleasant décor. There’s plenty of customer parking, and the building is wheelchair accessible, useful for elderly guests and people with mobility needs. The service was good, and I’d highly recommend it.
The hotel worked really well for our Crufts trip. It’s dog friendly, and we didn’t hear a single bark while we were there. The airport is close, so you can hear planes taking off, but it wasn’t bothersome. Our room was clean, the staff were friendly and attentive, and it’s about a 12-minute drive to the NEC. We’ll definitely come back.
