We booked around 10 rooms for a large group of family and friends over the May 2026 Bank Holiday weekend for a family wedding. Temperatures reached 32-34°C, and the stay turned into a terrible experience that affected part of our special occasion. There was no air conditioning, fan or other way to cool the rooms, which felt like ovens. We opened the windows so we could breathe and sleep, but flies got everywhere, including walls, floors, beds, bathrooms and bed linen. When we complained, staff blamed us for having the windows open. We also found bed bugs and have bite marks as proof. The place felt dirty and neglected, not like a budget hotel. We had no privacy either. Manager Zia. B came into rooms without knocking or warning, including while people were changing or resting. Before checkout time, she shouted at us to leave immediately. It was aggressive, frightening and humiliating. When we tried to discuss the problems with Hotel Manager Zia B, she shouted over us, refused to listen, offered no apology or help, and made threats and excuses. Her manner was the rudest and most aggressive I’ve encountered, and showed no respect for guests. I’d warn people away, especially groups planning weddings or anyone visiting in hot weather. Our guests had to deal with the heat, dirt, insects, loss of privacy and being shouted at to leave early. We’ll tell everyone we know to stay far away.

The adapted wetroom is good, and the new family-run cafe joined onto the hotel is superb. It serves lovely home cooking in generous portions, with convenient hours from 7am-2pm and 5pm-9pm. Staff are very friendly, and the manager is efficient and helpful.

We stayed as a large group on one booking, with different people there for 1, 2 or 3 nights. Room key cards repeatedly failed or became deactivated, causing problems for several of us. It was also extremely hot. When we opened windows to cool the rooms, lots of bugs came in, and some rooms ended up heavily affected by insects. The management’s customer service, particularly from Zia Bi, was the worst part. Several people in our group found her rude, confrontational and verbally aggressive. Concerns often escalated instead of being handled calmly, leaving guests uncomfortable. When someone asked about late checkout, the answer felt dismissive and the conversation became unnecessarily heated. Comments about who arranged the bookings, another branch and a staff member seemed unrelated to sorting out the issue. Checkout was at 12:00, but doors were knocked at about 11:50, 11:55 and 11:58. The knocking kept going even after guests said they were packing up and leaving. One family hadn’t finished packing and felt rushed, so they temporarily moved belongings into another room used by group members staying extra nights. We understand hotels get busy and have to follow policies, but the way these situations were handled made several of us feel unwelcome and uneasy throughout the stay. The management’s customer service was appalling and completely unprofessional.

The price was a bargain, the car park had loads of space, and my room was spotless and quiet. Suki and the rest of the team were friendly, attentive and helpful throughout. I had a great stay this weekend and was very chuffed.

The room was lovely, the staff were really helpful and parking was free. The shower temperature kept varying, the cot was broken and the TV was small. Still, it was a good stay, thanks.
