The biggest hassle was parking. There’s none on site, and the nearest paid option is about a 10-minute walk along a dark, empty-feeling dual carriageway. That wasn’t pleasant late at night or after a long drive. The area nearby felt a bit rough in places, and my window looked straight at a rather depressing derelict brutalist office block. The duvet was also far too thick and warm for me, as in most Premier Inns. Even with those downsides, it was a very good stay and one of the better Premier Inns I’ve used. The hotel feels modern, with clean contemporary decor and surprisingly spacious rooms. Mine was quiet, the air conditioning worked properly, the shower had reliable pressure, and the bed was large and comfortable. It’s also well placed for shopping and city centre attractions, with the Bullring a short walk away. A solid four-star stay.

The room was nice, clean and spacious, and the hallway stayed quiet, with no kids running around or people talking loudly. The bathroom was super clean, though the toilet tissue dispenser was empty and the rolls had been left behind the toilet. There’s no onsite parking, and arriving late meant walking with family from a car park that smelled of urine. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, with nothing to fault there. Breakfast was a real letdown, despite the smart restaurant and friendly staff. I ordered vegan sausages and poached eggs, then waited a few minutes before starting to plate up the other hot food. At the serving area, I saw another family using the tongs for meat and non-meat items interchangeably. I told the woman serving us, and she promptly brought out new tongs. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but different colours, like green for vegetarian and vegan food, might remind people to keep them separate. My sausages and eggs had clearly been forgotten. I had to ask again and hover around on and off. More than 20 minutes after I’d plated my hot food, the order arrived and the rest was cold. The vegan sausages looked raw, and the eggs were watery and snotty. I hate wasting food, so I tried the cold meal, but the sausages were awful. I ended up throwing away one sausage and one egg because they made me feel sick. On my way out I saw other vegan sausages cooked properly, with colour on them. I’ve ordered sausages at other Premier Inns and never had food this bad. It was the first Premier Inn breakfast I haven’t enjoyed, and definitely below standard. Perhaps they need more staff, since only one woman was taking orders. Nobody was clearing and resetting tables, so we had to do it ourselves.

Afua and Sally at reception made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. They smiled warmly at check-in and gave me helpful advice on the best and safest place to park, which made everything much easier. They genuinely seem to love what they do, and it shows. The room was spotless, well maintained, and had an exceptionally clean, comfortable bed, just what I wanted after a long day. This was a fantastic stay at Premier Inn Birmingham, easily the best Premier Inn I’ve experienced so far. I’ll be back, and next time I’ll make sure my whole work team books here too. It’s absolutely worth it by a mile, a definite five-star stay.

It was a work trip, and the room was perfectly quiet despite the high building being on a busy street. I didn’t hear any noise, and the location worked perfectly for us, just a five-minute walk away. The staff were lovely and helpful, from reception to the block and bar. We had breakfast and an evening meal, and after a long day the steak and churro sundae were most welcome.

We came from Manchester with our children, while my sister and her children travelled from London, for a family meal in Birmingham. We hadn’t managed to see each other over the December 2025 festive period. The location worked very well, around an 8-10 minute walk from Birmingham New street station. We arrived at about 2.50pm on Saturday 7th of February, in very heavy rain, and the children just wanted to settle in before our 6pm meal. Afua kindly checked us in 10 minutes before the official 3pm time, which was a real relief. She also gave the children small packets of biscuits and an internet wifi code. Afua and Charlotte were both warm, kind and hospitable throughout. It can’t be easy to keep smiling when some guests are demanding and unreasonable, so I wanted to thank them for making our stay so pleasant. Five stars to them both. We’ve already booked for the August 2026 BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND and hope to see you again. I hope management recognises you both!
