Woodend Hideaway Hamsterley - Sleeps 2 & Garden

The location was wonderfully private, but still within walking distance of Hamsterley and the local pub. We spent two relaxing nights watching sheep from the spotless shepherd’s hut, which had everything we needed. We even spotted a stoat that morning. Catherine was a great host, and quickly brought us a hairdryer when my partner realised she’d forgotten hers. There were thoughtful extras too, including dog treats and prosecco and beer. We felt right at home and can’t wait to return.

We enjoyed walking to The Cross Keys for a great meal, then sitting outside the hut playing Scrabble in the evening. Woodend Hideaway was a lovely place for an overnight stay, and our dog loved having space to explore and get fresh air. The shepherd’s hut was cosy and had all we needed for a comfortable visit. We’ll definitely return, highly recommend it!

Cath and Michael were lovely hosts and nothing was a problem. The hideaway has lots of thoughtful little touches, and our pup loved running and playing in the big fenced field. It’s in a great spot, just a five-minute drive from Hamsterley Forest. We had a lovely weekend and will definitely be back!

The hut was immaculate, and the hosts were very accommodating. A cosy, relaxing getaway in a perfect location.
