Parking's limited, though we've always managed to find a spot nearby. The pub can look closed when you pass, but it is open, so give the door a push. It's a welcoming place in a lovely village, with plenty of good walks nearby. We like stopping in for a drink after a walk. There's a nice beer garden, and dogs are welcome. We haven't eaten there yet, so check other reviews for the food, but it looked and smelled good.

The belly pork and homemade black pudding were amazing, tender enough to melt in your mouth but still full of flavour. The whole meal was one of the best we've had out in a long time. We stopped for lunch at the Fleece Inn while on holiday in Bishop Wilton. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly with very good service.

We had a really outstanding meal there last night, and it was great value too. I haven't had a meal this good around here in a very long time. We'll be back.

The waitress was pleasant, and it's dog friendly, but our lunch on New Year's Eve was a letdown. We'd gone after reading the good reviews, and perhaps the prawn sandwich was the wrong choice. There was just one other table eating, yet ours took 45 minutes to arrive. The prawns were covered in watery, tasteless mayonnaise, nowhere near the lobster sauce described.

The full English breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented, and there was plenty of it. We paid extra for it. We stayed overnight on the way home from the Highlands. The rooms were clean and comfortable, there was plenty of parking, and dogs are welcome. We'll definitely book here again.
