1820 Boutique Rooms and Suites

We paid £85 and couldn't wait to leave. The room looked nothing like the online pictures, and the supposed king-size bed was two singles pushed together, with an uncomfortable gap down the middle. The clean shower was practically useless: it took about 25 minutes of running before the water got lukewarm, never mind hot. The shower gel pot was empty and there was no soap, so we had to buy our own supplies at a convenience store down the road. We were also told on arrival that the main window blinds were broken. That wasn't a major problem, but it's not something you expect to hear then. The building's front door was rotten and badly peeling, and its supposedly secure lock was hanging loose.

We were left without body wash and with barely any toilet paper, and our repeated texts and calls went unanswered for more than 24 hours. We had to sort out these basic things ourselves. When someone finally replied, the response felt dismissive and unhelpful. Saying shampoo could be used as body wash, and calling our experience "surprising," came across as avoiding responsibility. The final problem was having no hot water, on top of an already poor stay. Room service and communication were basically nonexistent. This was one of the most disappointing stays I've had in the UK. They need to focus on these basic parts of hospitality for future guests.

Diane met us at the building and was very welcoming and helpful, and the beds were comfy. The room was great for the price, with a nice, modern shower. It's really close to MCDONALDS, which is a bonus. We came from Leeds/Batley for a weekend, and I'd probably stay here again if I'm in Blackpool. Would recommend!

The rooms were cleaned and the beds made on our second day, but they left the bathroom untouched. Breakfast was okay, though not great. The staff were very helpful, especially Diana and Wally, who were friendly and did their best to keep us happy. It was a good stay overall, but overpriced.
