After watching the Four in a Bed episodes, I wouldn't choose to stay here. The owner and her friend seemed unfair and unable to be pleasant or play fair, and the owner's attitude came across as poor and lacking charisma. A budget B&B like this shouldn't have been in the same competition as more elevated hotels. It should have competed against other cheap, budget-end B&Bs, so I thought that was unfair. To me, it's a Poundland B&B with delusions of grandeur, and that attitude made it undeserving of a plaque. Reviews from guests seem to back up the impression that the owner's on-screen manner carries over off screen.

Von and Garry made us feel completely at home and were the perfect hosts. The rooms were spotless and breakfast was fantastic. We came over from Canada and stayed four nights in October 2019. We'd happily return.

I thought it was unfair that they won Four in a Bed. The Crown and Kitchen, or any of the other B&Bs, should have won instead. The jealousy really came through, especially when she went into nice guest houses and it seemed clear she would underpay everyone. It wasn't nice to see that sort of behaviour win.

My kind of people. I'd be very happy to stay at this bed and breakfast. Some of the reviews seem to be from trolls who don't understand what a competition is. Good luck, ladies. I'll book for next year soon. Tom

I found the pair's conduct on Four in a Bed shameless. I can't understand why anyone would take tissue into a bathroom to wipe around the inside of a toilet bowl. Then they used the same approach at every other place, looking for anything that, in their eyes, justified low scores and underpayment. Yet she couldn't take criticism of her own business or the service she provided. I wouldn't consider staying there after seeing how they acted and believing they played unfairly to secure the win. They played the game strategically all the way through and won for it. I hope they're proud of what looked like a dirty, underhanded game.
