Gramsford Lodge

We upgraded to a more spacious room with a sea view, and it was lovely, especially the superb bathroom. A friendly man greeted us and offered refreshments while we waited for the room. He also carried our luggage upstairs. During our three-night stay, the bins were emptied and the toilet rolls replaced. That’s a first for me after staying in other hotels. I’ve been to Blackpool many times, but this was my first time at this hotel. We’ll definitely be back for the illuminations, hopefully staying here again.

It’s low cost and great value, in a great location. The staff are friendly, and there’s a cheap bar. We were told the WiFi might be weak on the top floor, but in our back room there was no signal at all, so that was a bit misleading. I also think £50 is too much to charge for losing a room key, especially when that’s the price of two nights. Even so, I’d recommend the place and stay again.

Kim, the manager, was extremely helpful, and the room itself was great. The bedrooms have new fitted en suite bathrooms and modern beds. There were a few problems, though: the WiFi wasn’t good, the TV signal didn’t work, and the fuse box kept tripping, leaving us without electricity on the first night. The decor and carpets also felt dated.

Gramsford Lodge is a quirky B&B with lots of character. Kim, the manager, was friendly and very hospitable. The room was clean and homely, and the bed was comfortable. I had a lovely one-night stay and would definitely book again.
