Iona Hotel

We couldn't keep the window open at night because of the noise outside, mostly seagulls, and the room got pretty hot. Air conditioning would help. There wasn't any table at all, so a little bedside table would have been handy for our things. I didn't mind the lack of tea and coffee facilities, since we were out exploring Blackpool attractions and the city centre all day, both very close by. The room was clean and recently decorated, with plenty of pillows and towels, which was a nice surprise after reading some reviews. Breakfast was good, with fresh coffee, pastries, pancakes, bread and cheese each morning.

We loved the continental breakfast each morning. Our room was clean and spacious, and the staff were lovely and polite. The beach and most attractions were close by. Absolutely fantastic, and we'll definitely stay again.

My mum was given a key when she arrived, after giving her name, and then had to find her own room with my girls. The room was pokey and the bed very uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean, but the toilet seat was loose. At breakfast there was a man sitting there, but he didn't offer any help or say whether they could have a cooked breakfast. The room could do with tea and coffee making facilities. We won't book again. Zero for customer service, comfort and breakfast.

The location was the only good thing, and we won't be returning. Our room was dusty, including two TVs, and the place badly needs cleaning. There was mould round the shower tray, the sink taps didn't work properly, and the toilet needed a proper clean. The mattress was uncomfortable because the springs were broken. The continental breakfast was very poor. We stayed for a night out on Saturday 22/10/18. A strange man was hanging around in the dining room eating breakfast; apparently he was the owner. His management was disgraceful. He didn't introduce himself or tell guests to help themselves, and sat there without saying a word. The place is very dated.
