Ashley and Lara make this place special. Ashley is front of house and looks after you, while Lara cooks breakfast exactly how you want your eggs or bacon. It’s the best breakfast I’ve had, cooked just right, without the greasy plates you get at some hotels. Mornings are relaxed, with as much toast and jam as you like, plus tea or coffee. The whole Rubens Hotel is clean and tidy, with free WiFi and tea and coffee in the rooms. There’s also a full licence bar, and they always have my beers. Ken and I have had 24 cans, whiskies and plenty more drinks there. If you want somewhere peaceful and relaxing in Blackpool, Rubens is on Lord Street and is the place for me. Ken, Janet, Sharon and I have been going since 2012, and it’s the only hotel we’ll stay at in Blackpool. The owners are wonderful and the place is friendly.

The room was clean, with a nice ensuite, and warmed up once we turned the radiator on. It’s a little old-fashioned and chintzy. We got a full English with endless tea and toast, plus a discount voucher for Funny Girls, which was the icing on the cake. Great spot, just two minutes from Funny Girls.

We feel like family whenever we come back, and wouldn’t choose anywhere else. It’s the best B&B we’ve stayed in, close to Blackpool centre, with comfortable rooms and a great breakfast.

Ash, the landlady, is so cheerful, and the rooms are beautiful and clean. It’s quiet, in a great location, and the breakfast was fantastic. Really good value too. We’ll stay again.

The owners made us feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. It’s a lovely, very clean place to stay, with a really comfortable bed, and it’s very pet friendly. We’ll definitely go back.
