The beds were comfy, the location was handy for getting around, and Will & Darcy were really nice to us. I was surprised the TV had Netflix and YouTube too. Still, the hotel felt a bit dodgy and needs work. The shower water was freezing, we had no towels, and our window was boarded up so it wouldn't open. The room got boiling hot, so we had to order a fan. There was a hole in the wall as well. I wouldn't recommend it for children or young women, as there were a lot of men staying there and it felt like a dosshouse. We paid very little, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz, but it wasn't as bad as some reviews made out. That's probably just what Blackpool is like.

There was no disabled access at the entrance, and we won't be staying here again. My room was very basic, with no hot water or towels, so I couldn't shower. When we arrived, the landlord was painting by the entrance and got paint on my friend's brand-new mobility scooter, which he'd left downstairs to charge. He was understandably angry. You don't get breakfast either. I suppose in Blackpool you get what you pay for.

We left a day early because the room made us uncomfortable, and it didn't look as if anyone had vacuumed after the previous guests. The place was being renovated, but that didn't help. The listing on booking.com promised facilities that weren't there, including free parking. We ended up paying £29 at a car park. There wasn't even a TV remote, and I don't think the signal worked. We weren't in the room long, but on arrival there was nobody to greet us. We had to knock on a door marked no entry; a girl came out and said our key was in the door and told us the room number. She didn't give us the inner door code, so we had to ask another guest. It didn't feel friendly or welcoming.

We arrived with lots of children late in the day, expecting accommodation for two families of four. The owner wasn't there, and on calling the property we were told to use an open room downstairs. It had one small double and a triple bunk, nowhere near the listing's two doubles, sofa bed and three bunks. The owner apologised and blamed booking.com for giving false information, but had nothing else available. He said he'd refund us through booking.com if we found somewhere else, and sounded genuine at the time. Since the end of May I've been trying to get that money back. He gave me false stories about sending it, then ignored booking.com's emails and calls. He also claimed he'd never received the money. After I posted a bad review, he called to say he wouldn't refund me because I was affecting his business. booking.com has filed an official complaint against him and the property for negligence and withholding my money, after he agreed on a recorded call to arrange the refund. He's rude, and in my experience a scammer who advertises false information to charge more and won't return your money. The hotel itself is nothing special, just a dive, with no staff around. The area felt rough, with builders everywhere and a bloke smoking weed outside with his dog. I suppose it's great for drug dealers. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. They overcharge and rob your money.

I paid 30.54 for one night on the 26th and wasn't happy. On arrival, a girl and a lad were sitting on the entrance steps smoking weed. They asked if I had any; I said I don't do it. He pointed out where to park, then came over and asked if I could get him some weed. He also said he was in room 7 and told me to knock later. That put me off straight away.
