Red House Hotel

I only stopped in to eat, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The breakfasts were fantastic, efficient, delicious and nicely presented. The hotel also looks very well looked after.

I was travelling with a coach group back up to Aberdeen and we stopped here for a meal. My fish and chips were spot on, with just the right portion and perfectly cooked fish. The other dishes going past looked and smelled amazing too. Staff were so attentive and welcomed our group and the locals warmly. I’d recommend stopping if you’re in the area.

The bathrooms were a little tired, so that’s where I’ve taken off a star. Everything was super clean, though, and the bed linen was bright white. The bed felt a bit firm to me, but my husband slept like a log. We stayed one night as a stopover on our golf trip to Inverness. It was excellent value, with the bed, breakfast and evening meal included. The food was very good, and the staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. We also discovered a weights room. It was close to the city centre.

We stopped for lunch and had a nice steak pie and smoked fish dishes that day. There was a good menu range, including a very good kids’ selection. My kid had the mac and cheese and really liked it. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.
