Friendly service and a really enjoyable meal. We ate in the bar, though the restaurant looked just as good. The Korean chicken nibbles were packed with flavour, then we had fish and chips and brisket pie with mash and tender stem broccoli. Both mains were tasty, flavourful and a decent size. Choosing dessert was tough. The sticky toffee pudding had soft sponge and lovely caramel sauce, and the chocolate torte with choc chip mint ice cream was great too. Thanks to everyone.

The welcome and service really make this country pub special. We turned up with five dogs and the staff were so accommodating, which is a rare and lovely thing. The place feels authentic and well run, and is a real find if you’re near St Tudy. The menu is fairly small, but the food is freshly cooked and consistently full of flavour. I’ve enjoyed both lunch and dinner here, and whenever I’m in Cornwall it’s a must stop for me. Reliable, high quality, and memorable.

We wanted a Sunday pub lunch at short notice, and they still found room for us. The roast was delicious, with a very good vegetarian choice as well. Save space for dessert, they were superb, and we even took some lunch home in doggy bags so we could manage them.

We’d enjoyed two previous visits and came hoping for another good Sunday roast, but this one let us down. The meat had very little flavour, the food wasn’t hot enough and the roast potatoes were disappointing. Staff were friendly enough, though the service felt very basic. At £30 for a three meat roast, I expected more.

We had an evening meal with friends at this lovely pub and restaurant. It’s remote, but the setting is fabulous. The food and service were excellent, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
