Trehellas House Hotel and Courthouse Restaurant

I was there for a work meeting and lunch, and the roast dinner tasted great. The potatoes were baked rather than roasted, though, and there weren’t any roast potatoes. That’s the only reason it wouldn’t get five stars from me. Baked potatoes with a roast? Really?

The reception woman was very helpful and accommodating, and the hotel is close to Bodmin. But our room, the Fowey room, was filthy. It was in an outbuilding, with a dirty, smelly carpet, and the room itself smelled damp and was very unpleasant. Guests shouldn’t be put in that room.

I only booked this as a quick overnight stop after dropping my daughter off at Uni in Falmouth, before heading home. I’m so glad I did. The room was cosy and comfortable, and it was such a lovely place to stay. I’ll definitely be back.

We had a very pleasant one-night stay and would happily come again. Breakfast was delicious and included in the price. I had a well-made omelette, my husband chose the breakfast sandwich, and there were cereals, fruit and yoghurt too. The coffee was tasty. Our room was light, clean and spacious, in a separate building, and we slept peacefully. Reception was very welcoming, and the room had a lovely bright feel. I’m not sure what the lovely scent around reception and the shared areas came from, perhaps candles?
