The breakfast team deserve a special mention. They handled all the different choices for eight adults and three children, and the poached eggs were spot on. The breakfast itself was fab, and everyone in our family reunion, across a wide range of ages, enjoyed it. Staff throughout were naturally friendly and courteous, the hotel was clean with charming decor, and they went out of their way to make us comfortable. We’d book again and again.

Breakfast was a real highlight after our private swim slot the next morning. The pool was at a perfect temperature and we had it to ourselves. In the dining room there was tea at the table, juice at the central stand, and marmalade, strawberry jam, honey, and butter. The cooked-to-order meal was filling and delicious, with tasty Cumberland sausages, crisp bacon, free-range eggs with rich yolks, and golden fried toast. I had both sunny-side-up and scrambled eggs. Our evening meal was good too. The open kitchen and bar seating area was clean and clearly well cared for. The burger came in a lightly grilled brioche bun that stayed soft but held together, with a thick, moist patty, crisp lettuce, tangy pickles, juicy tomato, and rich sauce. Double-dipped fries were crunchy outside and fluffy in the middle. Room 54 had a queen-sized bed, very soft pillows, red bedding, and a handy desk. It was easy to charge devices, and the complimentary coffee, tea, biscuits, and sparkling water were thoughtful. We could open the window fully for the sea air. The bathroom was on the small side, but had a warm towel radiator and a great bath. We started the stay with the lovely ocean view and garden seating area. The two bubbly women at reception made us laugh, made us feel at home, and upgraded us to a sea-view room. A wonderfully relaxing visit from the moment we arrived, and we’d absolutely come back.

We had such a lovely visit and really appreciated the warm hospitality. Our king-size room was spacious, and when I asked receptionist Keisha and the Manager about a sea view, they kindly upgraded us because one was available. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were excellent, from reception to the bar and breakfast team. The seaside views, parking, and restaurant were all great. We’ll recommend the hotel to everyone. My April 2025 break with the dog was very good, which made this March 2026 return all the more disappointing. The room was smaller, cold, and damp-feeling. There was no bath, and the weak shower wouldn’t stay in place long enough for a proper wash. I had to leave the hot tap running for five minutes to get hot water, and the room had only one lukewarm radiator that wasn’t always on. Staff were less friendly and helpful this time too. Breakfast used to be reliable, but the standard has slipped and there’s no smoked salmon now. Lunch and dinner were mediocre and quite expensive, and the bar was expensive as well. Service was slow: we waited ages to be seated and served, and I even had to get up to remind them we were there. Such a shame, but I’m very unlikely to return.
