We went as a group of eight for a birthday lunch this afternoon, and the food was excellent. Everything arrived together, and the service was great. Thanks, Hazel, and well done to the chef. Nothing was too much trouble.

The staff were helpful and polite, and you should book ahead because they get really busy. There are two sittings, at 12pm or 2pm. Nigel Mercer and I went to the Bricklayers arms in Old Leake for Sunday lunch, and it was far better than any carvery I’ve had before. For £16.95 each, you can eat as much as you like, with four meats to choose from or all four if you can manage it. There’s a fantastic choice of vegetables and massive Yorkshire puddings. If you’re ever out this way, do try it. We’ll definitely be going back. Very highly recommended.

The service was brilliant, attentive to every request straight away without hovering, so we could enjoy our meal in peace. We couldn’t have picked a better restaurant for our 30th wedding anniversary on 4 August 2025. The food was absolutely beautiful, served hot, cooked perfectly, and came in generous portions. We’ve already booked for the Sunday carvery today. We have a static caravan nearby, so this will definitely become our local place for drinks, meals, and special occasions.

We had a meal inside after drinks in the beer garden, and the food was amazing. We definitely recommend the lasagne and chilli nachos. The lovely lady behind the bar was very welcoming. It’s a lovely, dog-friendly pub, and I can’t fault it.
